31 Days...Day 9

Day 9 is a picture of the person who has gotten you through the most. My mom! Again on my list! She has been there for me through all my ups and downs including probably one of the hardest things I've had to deal with throughout my whole life and that is my dad and his alcoholism. I know I wouldn't be the person I am today had I not had my mom beside me through it all! She was a mom and a dad for me growing up when I didn't have one. I could go on and on about my mom because I just cherish her, our memories together and our relationship. I LOVE YOU MOM!

31 Days...Day 8

Day 8 is a picture that makes you laugh. Everytime I see this picture of Clay it makes me laugh and reminds me of how much fun we had that night! I took this picture of us last year when we were at a Beach Party in Mexico and we were all having a REALLY good time with lots of drinks! Let me just tell you that we were ALL out dancing including Clay, he wanted to keep on dancing even after the party was over. Clay doesn't dance....unless of course he has had a LOT of drinks. I will never forget this night AND am so excited to say that we just booked our tickets to go back AGAIN this year!!! We are SO grateful to have the opportunity to go again and are SO EXCITED!

31 Days...Day 7

Day 7 is a picture of your most treasured item...for me it is my wedding ring! I will have it with me always and it will never get old, break, or get tossed aside like most other items such as my phone or camera. It stands for our marriage and therefore I am completely in love with it, as I am with my husband! Clay did a pretty darn good job of picking it out if I do say so myself!

31 Days...Day 6

Today's day really had me thinking...day 6 is a picture of a person you'd love to trade places with for a day.  I am posting a picture of Carrie Underwood because at first thought she came to mind because I think she is SO beautiful and has an amazing voice, BUT I could never give up my girl and the rest of my family, not even for one day!  SO I wouldn't want to trade places with anyone for a day!  As cheesy as it sounds I love my life and wouldn't trade it for anything!

31 Days...Day 5

Day 5 is a picture of my night...Chloe in her jammies reading her new Valentine's "Dora Loves Boots" book! Reading books is part of our nightly bedtime routine. Chloe is wanting more and more to read the books to me which I love to hear what she comes up with. Some books that we frequently read, her favorites, she has pages memorized and knows just what to say. Like her new Tangled book she always reads the page...Long Yellow Hair. She also loves the books we have where I read one page and then she reads the next page - love those books! It's a sentance on my page and then a picture of something like a school bus and since she knows what that is she "reads" that page! This is my favorite time of night just snuggling and reading together!  Sweet Dreams.

31 Days...Day 4

Day 4 is a picture of my FAVORITE memory, which is the day my baby girl Chloe Kay was born. I always dreamed of being a mommy and that day my dream came true! Love you to the moon and back baby girl!

31 Days...Day 3

Day 3 which came and went was a picture of the cast from my favorite show.  My pick is Two and a Half Men just because Clay and I always come back to this one - it's just so funny!  Honestly I don't even watch much tv at all!  I just don't sit down and watch because we only have one tv in our house and either Clay's shows (hunting channel or Fox News) or Chloe's shows (Diego or Dora) are on which is just fine by me.

31 Days...Day 2

Today is Day 2 of my 31 Days and I am supposed to post a picture of me and the person I have been closest to the longest. Well that is a no brainer - it's my mom! She has been beside me since the day I was born and I am happy to say that to this day I would also call her my best friend! I am so lucky to have her as my mom - she is the very best! I LOVE YOU MOM!

Sticky Hands, Warm Heart

Last weekend we turned a handful of yarn into a hangable heart ornament or actually a necklace using cornstarch glue. I saw this idea in the Family Fun Magazine. To make the glue you combine 1/4 cup of cornstarch and 1/2 cup of water in a saucepan and stir until smooth. Heat the mixture over medium heat until it's thick and translucent. Allow to cool - you don't want your little one to burn fingers! Then we cut yarn into foot-long pieces. Push the yarn into the glue to coat it and then pick up a piece and run between fingers to remove excess. Lay the yarn inside a heart shaped (or shape of your choice) cookie cutter. Repeat until yarn fills up shape. Press flat, remove cutter and allow to dry. Chloe had a lot of fun with this project! Pressing the yarn into the glue was her favorite part.

It's starting to look like February!

We started decorating for Valentine's Day last weekend! Chloe loves doing the window clings so I have been buying them for all of the holidays. They are easy for her to do and cheap! AND they keep her busy for quite awhile, moving and rearranging!

Bouncing Bouncing Bouncing

A couple months ago I signed up for a groupon that was 6 admissions to Jump N Party for $18! $2 per person to bounce for an hour sounded like a good deal to me! We had never been before but heard that it was super fun. So today since it was a holiday we went with our friends Addie and Trey! It WAS super fun!! Trey and Chloe had a blast! Chloe said as we were walking out "mommy that was FUN!"

Girls Day!

Chloe and I had a girls day with Sami and Tami on Saturday. The girls had SO much fun together! First we went to the movie "Tangled." It was Sami's first movie ever and Chloe's 2nd. To my surprise Chloe sat through the WHOLE movie! It was a really cute movie, one that we will definately be buying when it comes out! Not only did the girls enjoy it, but so did us moms;) After the movie we went to Old Navy and bought the girls matching shirts because Sami was having her 5 year pictures taken and wanted Chloe in one picture with her. We did that next and then went to lunch. It was a great day and we are going to try and plan a girls day at least once a month from now on! Oh yeah and every time we were in the car Chloe told Sami "I love you Sami" about 10 times.  SO cute!

waiting for pictures!

I just LOVE this picture! Chloe -2 1/2 and Sami -5. Friends Forever!

Friday Night Fun!

Friday night we had our friends, the Odenriders over for dinner. Chloe arrived with Clay at the same time as Sami and Joel arrived and instead of coming and giving me a big hug like usual she just went running right past me towards Sami and said "you wanna play with my dollhouse??" And off they went! They had so much fun playing together! Then we put them all in the tub and afterwards they all climbed up into Chloe's bed. It was cute! Right now as I am typing this blog post Chloe is looking over my shoulder and saying "can we have Sami and Joel over??" We will have to plan another Friday night dinner soon!

Salt Sculptures

After painting the morning away Grandma brought in reinforcements to keep us busy the rest of the afternoon!  Thank goodness because a sick girl isn't fun but a sick and bored girl is even less fun!  Grandma found something in the paper that morning called trifty tips for indoor winter fun - perfect, just what we needed!  One of the projects was salt sculptures and this is how you make it.
1. Mix together 4 cups flour, 1 1/2 cups water and 1 cup salt.  Sculpt the doughy mixture into shapes - animals flowers or whatever your imagination inspires.  We made snakes and a snowman and used cookie cutters to cut out other shapes!  Bake at 350 degrees for one hour.  Cool and paint with acrylic paint.  Turned out to be a very fun project for Chloe as she loved all the steps!  As I researched more later I found a receipe to make them sparkly which we will definately have to incorporate next time!

Having fun making circles!
