Community Egg Hunt!

Saturday was the community egg hunt at 9am. Thank goodness it was actually sunny this year and not a blizzard like last year! It is always a good time even though it only lasts about T-minus 30 seconds once they say go! The kids love it. Chloe had almost her whole family cheering her on...mommy, daddy, nana, poppy and grandma were all there! On the way to the egg hunt grandma asked her how many eggs she was going to get and she said NINE! Crazy thing is she really DID get 9 eggs! Way to go Chloe!

Cake-Mix Cookies

How good do these look??? They are Cake-Mix Cookies!

I got the recipe out of Parents Magazine to make these Easter treats. Here is the recipe...
1 box yellow cake mix, 1 large egg, 1/4 cup canola oil, 1/4 cup buttermilk, colored sprinkles, 1 can vanilla frosting and yellow, red, and blue food coloring.

Preheat oven to 350 degrees. Line cookie sheets with parchment paper; set aside. (I didn't do this step and they turned out fine on a cookie sheet). Combine the cake mix, egg, oil, and buttermilk in a large bowl. Beat with an electric mixer on medium speed until smooth. Shape 1-inch mounds of batter into balls and flatten slightly. (FYI the dough is really sticky!) Place about 2 inches apart on the prepared cookie sheets. Top with sprinkles. Bake until cookies are golden and firm, 8-10 minutes. Cool. Divide the frosting among three bowls. Use a few drops of food coloring to tint frosting the desired shades of pink, blue and yellow. Sandwich the cookies together with frosting.

Chloe loved making and eating these fun easter treats...now HOP TO IT!

Coloring Eggs!

Wednesday Chloe had a sick day, she was up most of the night with an awful cough. After my morning meeting at work I came home to be with her. Didn't bug me too much we had lots of fun at home together. We cuddled and watched the movie "Tangled," and then we colored our Easter Eggs! Even though my girl wasn't feeling good we had a very fun afternoon just hanging out. Even Grandma got to hang out and play - it was great!

Peep Nests

For Easter we made Peep Nests. Chloe had a lot of fun making them and enjoyed eating them even more! To make them all you do is melt white chocolate chips in the microwave, stir in pretzels for the nests. Then dip the peeps in the leftover melted chocolate and place on top of the nests! Viola! Super easy, fun and cute!

I do...

Chloe has been telling everyone lately who she is going to marry...."I want to marry MOMMY!"  Daddy tells her "but I am married to mommy."  Doesn't matter to her she still wants to marry her mommy!

Letters S and T...

I am posting all of Chloe's preschool projects so one day when she is grown she will be able to look back at my blog books and see what she did!  Plus Clay and I love all her projects and are just so proud of her!  On Friday at preschool one of the kids brought bunnies.  Chloe LOVED them!  When Clay picked her up she was SO excited to tell us both about them!  She told us there was a black one and a white one and she even got to hold them! When she told us their names "Foxy and Roxy" she had the biggest smile on her face!
