Dance Recital

I am almost 2 months late posting this but Chloe had her dance recitals on June 2nd.  They did a 1pm and 6pm performance so everyone had a chance to watch.  My pictures didn't turn out as well as I had hoped - the lighting was just not good in the auditorium.  We were SO PROUD to watch how far Chloe, along with all the other dancers, had come since the Christmas performance.  Chloe danced her little heart out at both performances!  She even lost her tap shoe twice during her tap number but she just slipped the shoe back on and kept on dancing!  She really enjoyed dance this year and is already looking forward to it starting back up in the fall.

Happy 4th Birthday!

Chloe turned 4!  Hard to believe that our baby girl is growing up SO fast!  This year for her birthday she wanted to invite her friends.  Last weekend, July 14th we rented a princess bouncy house, which turned out to be amazing and super big fun!  The kids thought it was awesome, and even us adults got in on some bouncing action;)  Prior to having the friends show up we did a little family only lunch and had Chloe open her presents from us.  That turned out to be a really good idea because when she opened presents from friends it was all the friends in a circle helping open.  We could hardly keep track of what was from whom!  Chloe loved every minute of her friends being there and celebrating her birthday.  It was a hot day so all the kids brought and wore swimsuits.  We filled up water balloons and they ran through the sprinkler.  Once they were all wet the slide on the bouncy house got super slick and they were flying down it.  Thank goodness no one got hurt!  We also had bubbles which are always fun and a hit with kids.  Then it was cake and ice cream time - YUM!  The cake turned out amazing again this year!  Chloe wanted an under the sea Ariel cake and Amanda made it better than I could have even imagined!  Chloe loved it!  She said "well I kind of wanted it to be pink but it is blue because it's water!"

BIG SISTER!

On Friday June 22nd as we finished our dinner we told Chloe the following...

Me: "Remember when you said that you wanted a baby?"
Her eyes grew really big as she looked as me and said "YES!"
Me: "Well guess what, mommy has a baby in her tummy!"
Her reaction was priceless - she was beside herself with excitement!  I almost thought she was going to cry she was so excited because her eyes looked teary.  But then she proceeded to ask a bazillion questions and had to feel my tummy.  She didn't stop talking about the baby the rest of the night!  She just had to tell someone so we went to Uncle Luke's and Aunt D's and she ran into their house and said "we are going to have a baby!!!"  Since we broke the news she has been telling EVERYONE, including random people in Dr. offices;)  I absolutely LOVE how excited she is about being a big sister and I know she will be an amazing one at that!  she is going to be a little mommy to the baby I can already imagine.  Chloe isn't the only one excited about the news; we are quite happy to finally be growing our little family and sure are looking forward to Christmas this year!  As Chloe puts it, the baby is going to be born after Jesus birthday!

Where can we get a baby?

Chloe and I were lying in bed together about a month ago just talking.  I wish I had a recording of how our conversation went but since I don't I wrote it down so I could remember the moment!  It started out as me telling Chloe that the triplets were coming to visit us.  She was excited and proceeded to ask "are you going to give them all my baby things out of that other room?"  I have given Natalie things before for the babies that Chloe used as a baby so she just thought I was giving her more things I guess.  I answered "No." This is how she proceeded to respond...

C:  "Are we going to just keep those baby things?"
Me: "Yes we are."
C: "For my babies?"
Me: "Kinda of."
C: "Well I want a real baby, but how are we going to get one?" "How did Selah's mommy get her sister Tatum?"
Me: "Remember when you used to be in mommy's tummy?"
C: "Yes." "Mommy when they tore open your stomach to get me out did you breathe?"
Me: "Yes I did."
C: "Well where can we get a baby?"
Me: "I thought you didn't want a brother or sister?"
C: "I don't, I just want a baby."
Me: "Well if you have a baby, won't that be like a brother or sister?"
C: "Well I just want a baby that's a girl."  "Will they grow up like me?"
Me: "Yes."
C: "Oh!" "Well where can we get a baby?"

At this point I diverted the conversation as bad as I wanted to tell her that in fact mommy HAS a baby in her tummy right now!  I didn't feel it was quite the right time especially since daddy was not there.  I remember this winter my little Chloe was spreading a rumor at preschool that mommy had a baby in her tummy.  I know she is going to be such a good big sister!
