Playdate/Dinner

On Thursday October 17th our best friends the Carstensen's were in town visiting.  After Chloe got out of school we went and picked up Trey for a play date.  Grandma watched the two buddies and helped them make popcorn balls until we got off of work.  Blinn, Addie and Elle then joined us for dinner and we had a fabulous time catching up and just hanging out!  A fun memory was when Trey and Chloe ate dinner at the little table my grandpa had made - the same table Addie and I once ate at when we were this age!  We sure miss our fav Carstensen family and love any chances we get to spend time together!  I especially love seeing our babies grow up together!  All of the kids were super busy playing together so getting pictures was hard but I managed to get these two at least!

Market Pumpkin Carving

At the last Farmers Market of the year they had a pumpkin carving contest.  That Friday after work, Chloe, Layla and I headed down to carve a pumpkin!  We met up with Nic and the twins and there were lots of other friends there as well.  I was a little worried I would be doing all of the carving but after I got all of the guts scraped out Chloe took over and did it all by herself!  While Chloe carved Layla was busy standing and playing in the pumpkins.  They both were having a great time.  Chloe didn't win but in my book she did great and I was proud of her and her pumpkin!  After the carving was done the kids got hot cocoa and soup and ran around the plaza with each other laughing and playing.  What a fun afternoon!  P.S.  Don't you just love that shade of lipstick on Chloe;) hehe

September Photo A Day

I got behind a few days in September and was really bad about keeping up this month BUT better late than never I did it!  Here is September's Photo A Day!

1. Together (caught these two reading a book together - moments like these melt my heart!)
2. My name begins with (L)
3. Lines (Chloe is determined to stay in the lines when coloring - when she goes out she usually has to start a whole new page. She gets that perfectionist mentality from her mommy unfortunately)
4. Alone (no longer alone at work - little miss came to visit me!)
5. Here forever (I wish these beautiful flowers would stay here forever and never die)
6. Getting ready (to ride the alphabet train)
7. White (the color the girls wore for our family pictures)
8. Made by me (Layla's art)
9. On the wall (a shelf Clay made me from a wood pallet)
10. Sweet (My baby girl)
11. What you did today (went shopping!)
12. Shadow (Layla is a shadow to her big sister following her every move)
13. Unexpected (Chloe has pink converse in Kindergarten just as mommy did only mine were the hightop version)
14. Liquid (mastering the sippy cup)
15. Season (Fall! artwork by Layla)

16. Frame (I think I will have to frame this - I just love little feet)
17. In front of me (Layla Wade)
18. Vintage (my dad played with this when he was little and now Chloe has it)
19. What is this? (New handme down toy from the triplets!  She LOVES it!)
20. In the morning (homemade applesauce muffins - yum!)
21. Rule of thirds (2 of our 3 girls)
22. Made me smile (silly shades)
23. From my childhood (My mom's dad made this table and chairs and I used it as a little kid - my girls are now growing up with it)
24. Space (Maggie has lots of space to run)
25. H is for...(Happy Hammond girl)
26. Curve (teaching a new puppy to walk on a leash has it's learning curves)
27. WTF? (horrible wind storm in the night picked up the gator and dropped it on top of another truck)
28. 10 o'clock (found this girl in a bridesmaid dress playing my guitar in our closet)
29. Gold (I struck gold when we tried mac n cheese on this girl - she LOVES it!)
30. Found (Maggie found a lap to lay on)

Planting a tree

On Saturday after Soccertots we went to Lowe's and bought a couple trees that were 50% off.  Clay is always wanting more trees for the yard so he was excited about the sale!  We came right home and helped daddy plant them since it was such a beautiful afternoon!

I got the shovel ready daddy!

Soccertots!

Chloe started Soccertots again last Saturday.  We now have been doing the fall session for 3 years and she continues to LOVE it!  I am excited about this year because they opened the whole gym up again.  Last year it was spilt in half so there wasn't as much room to run and play.  I am surprised every time I watch C and how FAST she is!!  They scrimmaged one-on-one at the end and C made 2 goals against another boy.  Poor guy didn't even stand a chance - she was just so fast she took off without him.  Maybe next time she will get a better opponent.  I love Soccertots because it's more of playing games, red-light, green-light or picking up cones with their feet and just having fun rather than playing actual soccer against other teams.

This is the pic I got of her making a goal - see what I mean...FAST! LOL

Wild Tie Night

Last Wednesday night at Awanas was Wild Tie Night!  Samantha came home with Chloe after school for a play-date and then we got the ties out!  They were being SO silly I had to take some pictures.  Chloe is sure enjoying Awanas this year and she is doing SO good learning her verses each week.

Triplets turn 2!

On Saturday September 21st the triplets, Opal, Scarlett and Isaac turned 2!!!  I still remember that day when 3 precious babies entered the world like it was yesterday.  They have grown so much and have such personalities now.  The girls remind me so much of their momma, whom I love so dearly!! Happy Birthday Opal, Scarlett and Isaac!!

9 Months

Look who turned 9 months...

It is getting harder and harder to get a monthly picture of our busy little Layla!!  She is quite the mover these days!  Although she is not walking yet I predict she will by the end of this month!  Here's what else she has been up to in the last month...

Goes to bed at 7pm each night and sleeps 10-11 hours straight.
Takes 2 naps a day.
Is not interested at all in baby food and wants to eat "real" food.
Still has no teeth - I don't even feel bumps yet.
FIRST WORD - MA MA MAMA and is saying it  ALOT throughout the day:)
Loves being outside with daddy and loves playing and following sister around.
Is such a happy girl!
Pulls her hair when tired.
Shakes her head no no no when she doesn't want something.

I quit breastfeeding her this month:(  It was such a hard decision for me but finally I realized it was the best thing to do since I was hardly producing any milk and it was really messing up naps and bedtime.  As sad as I was to quit I was still proud of our progress with me being back to work fulltime.  Plus I was able to do it twice as long as I did it with Chloe, which is a whole other story!
