12 month check-up

Today Layla had her 12 month check-up.  It was originally scheduled for 2 weeks ago but since she had double ear infections going on, we didn't feel like it was a good idea to get all of her shots at that time.  SO today was the day - 3 shots in the legs:( Makes a momma feel sooooo bad!!  Especially when you are holding their arms down.  UGH! Dada ~ it's your turn next time! I was SHOCKED when the nurse said she has grown a whole 4 inches since her 9 month check up!  She is now 100% for her height.  I'm willing to bet that  Layla is going to surpass Chloe in height because Chlo was always in the 90-95% range.  Here are the rest of buggy's stats:
25lbs 14oz - 98% / 32 3/4 inches tall - 100% / 19in head circumference 98%
A little side note - as I was holding poor buggy's arms above her head and listening to her cry I looked down in her mouth and saw a shiny left back molar poked thru!  The right molar is right under the surface about to come thru as well!!  So that's 3 on top and 3 on bottom now.
Such a little ham - she was flirting and cheesing it up all morning at Grandma's infusion appointment.  And here at her dr. appointment making funny faces at her self in the mirror.  These are signature Layla faces especially those puckered lips!!  LOVE HER!

Happy 1st Birthday Layla Wade!

Our buggy turned 1 year old!  I cannot believe that it has been a year since she was born.  She officially has 3 teeth on the top and 2 on the bottom.  She had double ear infections the first part of January which I think had to do with the teething:(  She now says Hi which sounds like "eye" and even put two words together yesterday Hi Dada!  She points to her hair, ear, nose and eye and just recently found her belly button.  Bath time is her favorite and I think the mommy and me swim lessons has really been great for being comfortable in the water.  Last night she put her face down in the water and Chloe was teaching her how to blow bubbles.  It was so cute!  She does not like hair bows or pony tails and you will see in the pictures where she is trying to pull it out.  We are still doing bottles but just this week switched from formula to milk and that has gone well.  Hopefully we can switch to tippy cups soon although she really LOVES her baba's so might be challenging.  Layla is always happy to be outside - she will go to the door and try putting her coat on as a hint;)  She is not a picky eater but I would say pizza, mac and cheese and just plain cheese are favorites.  This last month she has been going to bed around 6:30-7 and sleeping until 6-6:30 in the morning.  On a good day she will take a 2 hour nap.  She absolutely is in awe of her sissy and follows her lead always.  She is also a little ornery!!  This girl can find a marker anywhere and then proceeds to color on the walls and if the bathroom is left open the toilet is game for things to be thrown in!  We love this girl SO much and can't even imagine life without her!  Happy Birthday Buggy!!
We celebrated Layla's birthday on January 1st.  It was a Ladybug birthday party!  Clay and Nana made homemade pizzas and we had red velvet cupcakes for dessert.  We had lots of family and friends over and it was a great little 1st birthday!  Thanks everyone for coming and for all of the fun gifts for our girl!
This is how mommy feels about her girl being 1 already!! HAHA

Disney LIVE! Rockin Road Show

Last Sunday, January 12th, Chloe and I went into town to meet up with Nicole, McCall and McGuire.  We met and went to lunch at Rock City, then we headed to the Arena for Disney LIVE!  This was our Christmas present to each other instead of having the kids buy one another presents.  The show was aimed I'd say for a little younger kids but our kiddos still seemed to like it.  Chloe was even up dancing along to a couple of the songs.  It was a fun afternoon with good friends!

Mommy and Me Swim Lessons

Buggy and I started Mommy and Me swimming lessons at the YMCA last Saturday with friends Carey and Jude.  Buggy was feeling under the weather from her double ear infections that were diagnosed just 2 days prior.  I figured if we kept her ears out of the water she would be ok.  At first she wasn't sure about the whole thing but once she got her hands on a watering can she was having fun! After that we sang some songs and she splashed a tiny bit.  When it came to sitting on the edge of the pool and "jumping" in she made it clear that she was done:(  Today I'm hoping we last the whole lesson since she is feeling back to herself, BUT we shall see:)  She is quite strong willed and if she doesn't want to do something she isn't going to do it and will make that real clear.  Takes after her daddy in that sense!!  Chloe starts her swim lessons today too and is very much looking forward to it!
