Egg Hunt in the POOL

On Saturday March 19th Nicole and I took the McCall and Chloe to do an egg hunt at the YMCA pool. It sounded like it would be so much fun but it was just ok. It took less than 5 minutes for them to fill their buckets with the eggs and then they had to turn the eggs in. In return they got an orange. I know the YMCA is all about promoting health but Chloe was not impressed. It actually made me laugh. What WAS worth the $5 we spent to do this was that they got to go down the big water slide a couple times each before getting out of the pool. Chloe LOVED doing that!

St. Paddy's Day FIVE

On Sunday March 13th the girls and I participated in our first St. Paddy's Day 5 run. When I signed up for this run I thought it was a 5K (3 miles), but a couple days prior to the race I found out it was actually 5 MILES. I will say I was very nervous and did not think I could run the whole race. I have never ran 5 miles before...EVER! The weather was perfect, I started slow and kept pace with another gal and I. DID. IT!!!! I felt SO accomplished and proud of myself. My family and the Barta's were there cheering me on at the end which meant so much to me. When I finished the girls did their little run which was a lap around the track and got ribbons. Afterwards we all went to eat at Dave's Bar and Grill which has the best food and I got me a green beer just cause I deserved one. HA!

St. Patrick's Day Parade

On Saturday March 12th the girls and I headed to Spokane to pick up our race packets for the St. Paddy's Day run the following day and to go to the parade! We met up with Nicole, McCall and McGuire before the parade and had lunch. Then we braved the chilly weather and had so much fun collecting candy and watching the parade. Afterwards we headed back inside the mall for some hot cocoa and to see the Easter Bunny! It was such a FUN day full of laughs! I really hope we can make it a tradition and do it again next year!
My girls in their GREEN!

Nicole brought these FUN glasses.

Our turn with the glasses! CHEERS.

Tri-Cities WEEKEND!

On March 4th after I got off work we headed to Tri-Cities for our 2nd annual weekend getaway with the Carstensen family! Addie is one of my best friends from preschool and now our kiddos have been best friends since birth. We all get along so well and have the best time together. When we arrived on Friday night we went straight to their house where we had dinner and just hung out. The big kids wanted to have a sleepover so the 2nd picture I received in a text from Addie that night. On Saturday morning Layla and I got up and went swimming while Clay went to check out the farm store. Before lunch we headed to "Get Air" and then after lunch the Barta family joined us at the hotel! We had planned a babysitter back at Addie's and all of us couples along with other friends went out to do wine tasting for a couple hours. We had so much fun!! In fact we even texted the sitter to see if she could watch the kiddos a little longer because we were having such a great time. Unfortunately she had plans so the fun came to a stop. It was okay because the kids were ready for bed by then anyways. We said goodbye to our friends and headed back to the hotel. The next day we stopped with the Bartas for lunch at the Mercantile on the way home. It was a perfect weekend getaway with best friends!
Peace out Davenport - headed to the Tri-Cities!
Dinner is served!
